Fly to Jesus

Kyton was not wanting to go to sleep so we were picking out clothes for tomorrow when the song from Bible School came on--"Fly to Jesus".

Kyton said, "God won't let me fly. Mom, when do we get to go to heaven?"

Wow, isn't that what IT IS ALL about? Thank you, Jesus for such a sweet conversation after a great but tiring day!

First Day of School Pics

Wow--Bailey wanted to know this morning when we ALL sat down for breakfast which can be a big blessing (Thank you Jesus!) if I had the hiccups in my prayer as a prayed for the two of them as they prepared for 1st and 5th grade. No emotions filled my throat!! We had a great start. It makes so much difference what we can get done the night before.

Riding BB

Kyton, prompted by Tryce, needed to ride BB after church yesterday. So...I led him around. BB is really crippled up but let Kyton ride a long time. So sweet.

Big Summer Project--Success

I wanted the kids to be able to paint murals on the garage walls after an incident that knocked a "small hole" in the wall. They used old paint that has appeared in our home with the help of a few extra colors--only one purchased. They made a plan (except for Kyton) and went for it. I LOVE IT!!

Going green

I tried to pick a template that had green in it, but it didn't fit the kids picture. I have gone a bit green this summer. I would love to be more. I read a book about it--ways to save and go green. I have even bought fabric to make Christmas and birthday bags instead of using paper so much for wrapping. I only recycle plastic because I was driving Clint crazy with the extra trash. It all seems rather neat now. To me there is constantly something to wash out and recycle that is plastic. We are at least trying. I have tried not to use as many grocery sacks--if I can remember to not only bring them in the right car, but bring them in the store. I have enough now to carry most of my loads. Bailey took picture of jeans, etc. drying before BB showed up.

Mini Gardening

Bailey took pictures early on of my garden in pots. The rain, Miracle grow and new placement has really helped. We have eaten spinach from it many times. Now I have a little bell pepper and baby yellow squash coming. It has been great! More pictures and Mini gardening II to come.

August nights

Clint got home from A & M meetings. Yes, as I was walking, the kids were playing in the water--a new thing in the last few days.

The beginning

Not only is this the beginning of the blog, but it is the beginning of school. Bailey will be a 5th grade, Teagen will be a 1st grader and Kyton is in his second to last year of "training". As we speak, Bailey, Kyton and I are at school. Bailey is painting a boarder around my white board of different colors. For the first time I think ever, I am pretty laid back and ready to start. With the back surgery summer and the slowing down I have learned from that, I am anxious to see how I do with the stress and pushing of myself.

There are many personnel changes this year. I have a new upstairs neighbor (next to my classroom). I have the same bosses. I have four English classes and yearbook. I am still in charge of scholarships, but after last year's big class, this one will seem like a breeze. I will start my UIL journalists early on to give them a break before Thanksgiving and Christmas so that we get a fresh start when the new year comes.

Elementary UIL will be in May. Bailey will love that for now. She and Teagen will go to Pathfinders when that gets going. She would like to take art again. They are still enjoying the chicks at MeeMaw and Haw Jim's.

They all three have worked cattle today and Bailey has been a big help this week for Haw Jim. She and Teagen both have enjoyed riding and driving the four wheeler--on their own. Teagen needed one more time just with Haw Jim today because it would be the last for awhile.

I love the look of a clean desk. We will see how that goes.

My goals for the year personally are: 1. try to walk/exercise 4 days a week 2. don't take work home--spend time with family 3. Read with my kids 5 days a week

School: 1. Grade things as they come in and record the grades
2. Organize the yearbook--people taking pictures of all events without being reminded--stay on top of picture organization, etc. Groups done by May
3. 100% TAKS

Delegate, delegate, delegate for me AND keep my sink shiny per the FLYLADY!
